Hey, y'all!
I've started a new blog to mouth off about pop culture. It's still in its fledgling stage, so be kind. It's over here: The Pop Ogre. I'll be posting to it regularly when I want to vent my spleen about pop culture or review the latest thing I've seen. What this means, unfortunately, is that thusly-themed posts will dry up around here.
Sorry about that. But I don't believe you need to join Blogger to comment over there, so go ahead and bookmark that shit.
Later.
If you were sent to prison for an undefined amount of time, what would you miss most?
Probably being able to masturbate in private.
Furthermore, ONCE AGAIN, VOX, fuck your fucking sponsored QotD's that graffiti your greed all over our blogs.
I changed things so that it won't post my Twitters here anymore, and I deleted all the old Twitter posts. It was turning my blog into one of those blogs I hate, and plus, it was giving me the impression that I was posting content when I wasn't. So, if you want to read my Twitter, you'll have to actually join Twitter and follow my feed.
Maybe this will spur me into posting more interesting content here, like I used to before Twitter swallowed my soul.
What story of personal greatness, achievement or success would your co-workers or friends be surprised to learn about you?
I cannot think of any personal stories of greatness, achievement, or success that do not involve a roleplaying game character, which is possibly the saddest comment upon a life that a person can make.
Also, I notice that this QotD is sponsored, and that a sponsorship link shows up in our post when we answer it (I have erased this link). Remember how much I bitched about this crap the last time you did it, Vox? I'm not any cooler about it now than I was then. Please stop trying to slip adverts into our content. It is beyond sleazy. Sponsorship is a necessary evil, but nobody wants a corporation's brand splashed across their blog posts.
Or in their tags, for that matter.
This time I'm in the Entertainment module on the Explore page. See it here (this is a time-sensitive link).
I never know what it is that I write that's going to make it onto that page. For instance, I've written this today, which I think is more than Explore-worthy, but I have a feeling that it won't make it, because I think somebody prefers to expose blogs in which I look like a fool and/or a dick (if Joaquin is eventually revealed to have been playing us all along, who's going to look like a sucker?).
Oh, well. Perhaps I will sell some tee-shirts as a result. That wouldn't be too bad.
Occasionally, members of my neighborhood, who I might in fact be quite fond of, post a blog relating some sort of personal pain or heartache. Often, I don't comment on these posts. I remain silent not because of a lack of caring or interest, but because I am nearly incapable of leaving words of encouragement or sympathy without coming off as a sarcastic douche. As a result, my natural inclination is just to back off, watch, and comment when things start loosening up.
Anyway, my 'hoodies, that's why sometimes Kevin seems like a dick: because it's better to stay silent and let people think I'm an asshole than to open my mouth and remove all doubt, to paraphrase somebody who may have been Samuel Johnson, Abraham Lincoln, Yogi Berra, Mark Twain, or the cartoon character Snagglepuss for all I know [by the way, Internet: thanks for nothing].
Yesterday, Jill, Nanda and I drove to Park City to have a late lunch with MiamiShyner and her peeps. They were in state to do some snowboarding, and it was a rare opportunity to meet a Vox friend from Miami. Here you can clearly see that her, her fiance, and her daughter are all happy and smiling, and nobody is holding a gun to anybody's head. If any of you are ever presented with an opportunity to meet me in the real world, remember this: I WILL NOT KILL YOU.
Edit: As I look at the photo, I see that her daughter is not exactly smiling, per se, but she is at that age where smiles don't come cheap. Whatchagonnado?
Can you change the [life is good] box? This is starting to get embarrassing.
I was in a strange mood today. Usually, the groups I create when I'm in a strange mood don't prove very popular, but people like to talk shit about science fiction shows, right?
Anyway, here it is.
